Parade at Victoria Downtown
Victoria Day (French: Fête de la Reine, lit. ’Celebration of the Queen’) is a federal Canadian public holiday observed on the last Monday preceding May 25 to honor Queen Victoria, who is known as the “Mother of Confederation”.
On May 19, the 125th Victoria Day Parade took over the downtown street.
The parade lined up along Douglas Street in Victoria for this celebration, with the procession kicked off at 9am near the Mayfair Shopping Centre.
Over the next few hours, thousands of participants, including business teams, students, floats and entertainers, made their way through downtown Victoria, ultimately reaching their destination, Courtenay Street.
